Mosaic Project

“You are Mosaic Makers, practitioners of justice,” - Alicia Forde

A group of 1UC members concerned with racial injustice has been gathering determined to strive for equality and achieve balance at all levels of society. As the Welcoming Congregation process helped our church welcome BGLTIQ folks and work for their inclusion in society, Mosaic wants to change the conversation around race. With the 50th anniversary of the Selma march in 2015 and the reactions to shootings of black men by police in Ferguson and other places, it seems a good time to examine our own ideas and ideals and see what we can do to make our church and our world more equipped to deal with racial differences.
