Weekend in the Woods

Weekend in the Woods, 35th Year Celebration
October 13-15, 2017

The first fall weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life was planned by a few members of First Unitarian. Among the pioneers were Barbara Gallivan, Jim Rice, Roy Reynolds and Jean Latimer. Little did they know that over two decades later, even more of us would gather in the lovely woodland hills of Eastern Oklahoma! Atfirst, we called it an Advance because our merry band of UU’s did not think the word Retreat would do! Now, it is our Weekend in the Woods. We gather as a community in the hills, caves and woods of Robber’s Cave State Park. Several of the original activities still take place. New ones are added and some retired as each year many of us decide to volunteer and guide activities available for everyone to enjoy.

“Come, come as you are wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving!”

It is a great time for all ages & we look forward to being there with you! ~ 2017 Robber’s Cave Weekend Committee
