Our Whole Lives is a series of sexuality education curricula for five age groups: grades K-1, grades 4-6, grades 7-9, grades 10-12, and adults. The program is offered on alternate years. Our next classes are for 8th & 9th grades, and 4th & 5th grades:
- 8th & 9th Grade
- 12:20 – 2:30PM - starting Sunday, September 28
- 4th & 5th Grade
- 6:45 – 8:00PM - starting Wednesday, October 15
Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
Sexuality and Our Faith is a component of OWL that provides a framework for incorporating specific faith-based teaching and practice into each session of the curriculum. This framework includes opening and closing rituals and additional discussion questions, designed to draw out the connections between the session topics and specific Unitarian Universalist teachings and values.
