Board of Trustees

The Board is the governing body of the church. The functions of the board include: developing an operating budget for the church; appointing or approving members to various governance committees, and accepting other tasks as outlined in the Bylaws. Perhaps most importantly, board members maintain a vision for the church and its mission.

Nine church members serve on the Board for three year terms. Each year, three members rotate off the board as they have completed their term and three new members are selected to begin their term. New members are elected at the church's annual meeting. There are four officers elected by the board to serve one year terms: President, Treasurer, and Clerk. Continuity is achieved by designating the President Elect one year in advance and maintaining the Past President on the board.

The Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month, except for July and August. The Board uses a "consent agenda" form of governance, in which reports and agenda items are distributed a week before the meeting. By this process, the meetings proceed at a good pace for the board meetings and the important issues receive ample attention. Board meetings are open to all church members who wish to attend.
