The role of a teacher has always been challenging, but especially with the introduction of censorship laws that could lead to severe consequences just for teaching the truth, it also requires a great deal of courage. The process of learning also requires courage: it isn’t easy to stretch beyond our comfort zones and learn new things, especially when new information conflicts with old beliefs. Today we celebrate teachers and students who aren’t afraid to learn, grow, and speak truth. During the service, we will also commission Religious Education teachers and volunteers for the coming year.
