Whether you’re exploring Unitarian Universalism for the first time or a long-time UU who has just moved to central Oklahoma, we welcome you! Our Sunday morning activities begin at 10am with a full slate of opportunities for children, youth, young adults and adults. Our worship service begins at 11am.
We try to be a “Come as you are” kind of place. Dress ranges from casual to business formal. Children are encouraged to dress for hands-on learning activities. They will likely have time for outside play, as well.
As an urban church, parking can be at a premium at First Unitarian. If you are visiting for the first time, feel free to use one of our “Guest” spaces located near the parking lot entrance from Dewey Street. Most of the time there is ample parking along the street and in nearby business lots on Sunday mornings. Several of our on-site spaces are set aside as Handicapped Parking. There are accessible ramps into the sanctuary and at the back of the church.
If you have children or youth, or plan to participate in one of our 10am opportunities, you will want to enter through the office or courtyard doors. Someone will greet you and help orient you to our church.
When you enter the sanctuary for worship, an usher will hand you an Order of Service. The Order of Service provides the words to our affirmation, tells you what hymns will be sung, and identifies persons involved in leading worship. The Order of Service also provides a list of activities in our community for the coming week.
When you attend for the first time we hope you will make yourself a Guest name badge and complete a visitor card. This allows us to welcome you more individually, and send you our newsletter.
