Finding Your Way

We are so happy you found us! You are taking the first steps to become a member. Beyond cultivating new relationships and enriching your life, membership gives you the chance to be a leader.

What it means to be a member:

  • Vote in the annual congregational meeting
  • Be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, Nominating Committee or Committee on Ministry
  • Have a voice in setting our annual budget
  • Receive the UU World magazine
  • Be eligible to serve as a delegate at General Assembly

For more information on how to complete each step in a way that is best for you, attend a new friend gathering and have a conversation with our Minister.

 

Pathway to Membership

Explore the Eternal:

Start with attending worship. Then, begin to forge your own path by participating in one of the following:

  • Come early on Sunday morning for a 10:00 am program
  • Attend a Christmas Eve or Solstice service
  • Attend the Inter-generational Thanksgiving service, (usually the Tuesday before Thanksgiving)
  • Tuesday Adult Education Class at 11:00 am
  • Join a covenant group
  • Develop a regular spiritual discipline

Nurture Community:

Further your commitment by getting involved with the church. There are many opportunities including the following:

  • Join the Alliance – a group who meets for lunch and a program (generally the first Tuesday of the month)
  • Join the choir or handbell choir
  • Work with the audio-visual team
  • Join the Facilities Working Group to maintain the facility
  • Be an usher or greeter
  • Volunteer in the RE program

Pursue the Common Good:

As we strive to better ourselves and our community, join us in a social justice causes such as:

  • VOICE events (Voices Organized in Civic Engagement)
  • Give to Change-for-Change
  • Make a Guest at Your Table contribution (Nov – Dec)
  • Join the UUSC
  • Join the Social Justice Committee
  • Put your UU values into practice in the “outside world” in some tangible way.

 

After completing these three steps, tell us about your experiences along the way. Once you’re ready, make and fulfill a monthly pledge of financial support to the church. You’re now ready to sign the Membership Book, officially making you a member! You may fill out a pledge form by clicking HERE.
