This year would be the 100th birthday of Clara Luper, Oklahoma’s beloved activist and educator. In a 2003 interview about the challenges she faced, Mrs. Luper stated: “My biggest challenge, I think, was within myself – to believe that I could continue in spite of conditions.”  It was in the halls of Northeast High School (right here in Oklahoma City) where I learned Physics, French and English but more importantly I learned how to advocate for myself and others. Where did you learn to advocate for yourself? For Others? Where does your resilience come from? Join me this Sunday as we explore the life of Clara Luper and her far reaching and quite personal impact.
