September 27 is World Rivers Day. Rivers are life-giving resources, carrying water to parched earth, and serving as home to fish and other aquatic animals and plants. It was by wading through rivers and streams that enslaved people found a path to freedom. And, in the Christian tradition, it was in a river where Jesus was baptized. As we continue diving into the rich legacy of our UU theological heritage, we’ll consider the ways that our faith is like a river: life-giving, liberational, renewing. And we’ll ask a most challenging question: isn’t it right and good to share such a resource with others?
