“Tree Hugger”

When we look at the natural world are we just seeing what we get out of it, or are we viewing animals and plants in our world as their own beings with their own stories? Are we truly seeing the fullness of trees and other plants for who they are or are we viewing them as objects? Can we accept, and even find comfort in, the notion that their worlds do not revolve around us?
