Many of us feel closest to the divine or to Mystery when we are in the heart of nature. But can nature be a religion? Can nature offer all the standard elements of formal religion, including a central story (answering the questions ‘where did we come from?’ and ‘where are we going?’); a sense of wonder and awe; and a moral compass or guidelines for how to relate to others and how to live a good life?
